5-6 April Reflections: Cycle III Problem Solution Framework

Transcribed from hand-written notes-

5 April Reflections:

At the airport on my way to instruct for cycle III component (Problems)
Me: re-read PBL articles from Lit. Review and comb other articles & research on ‘scaffolding’- problems and solutions for my students.

6 April:

Cycle III

·         Use “the process” as a means to attack the problem and design techniques to adapt for use with future problems.

Goal Framework for Problem Solution: To analyze the problem and accurately relate its magnitude to overall system architecture, design a solution process or "workaround"

a.       Analysts should collaborate with other professionals affected by the problem
b.      Work with other experts to understand technological implications and additional outside considerations
c.       Assess prospective methods to provide solutions to the problem (how invasive and/or risk assessment)
d.      Collaborative experimentation (trial & error phase, furthers learning through deeper software system understanding)
e.      Assess outcomes
f.        Design a process, series of methodologies, checklists, etc. to document
a.       Technological limitations
b.      “system” components
                                                                           i.      What each can offer &
ii.      What those personnel know about how the system is supposed to operate
g.       Present findings to the parties involved
-train others so others know findings and “the process” that was assembled and used
h.   Can technology be leveraged to alleviate or remedy this problem? (I.e. additional software tools, or modifications?)
